WELLNESS & EAP PROGRAMS
Employee Benefit Programs are intended to offer more than major medical. Today’s employers offer a comprehensive array of valuable resources and programs that benefit a diverse workforce, strive to maintain a wellness environment and control costs
WELLNESS PROGRAMS
There simply isn’t enough that can be said about encouraging healthier habits.
Behavior change is the key to having a successful wellness program. The best employee wellness programs keep the focus on the need to help employees adopt and maintain healthy behaviors. Behavior change reduces health risks, lessening the prevalence of chronic disease, and reducing employee-related expenses such as lost time and low productivity.
Many factors determine how healthy we are, but none of them are as important as our behaviors. Between 70-90% of all strokes, heart attacks, cancers, and Type II diabetes and other chronic diseases are directly related to what we eat, whether we exercise, and whether we use tobacco products.
Employers, medical and wellness professionals all face the same challenge: helping individuals make healthy choices. In an effort to find the best way to engage your employees, we have identified Four Components that Drive Change:
- Awareness and Education
- Resources and Tools
- Culture, Collaboration
- Recognition and Reward
We passionately work side-by-side with our clients to implement specific wellness programs selected to ensure people will participate. About 40% of the success of behavior change happens when we establish a supportive environment and when employees receive peer support from others. Engaging peer to peer with new and rewarding incentives allows an opportunity for HR and the Employer to implement successful wellness initiatives that will create goodwill and provide a return on your investment.
Together, the company culture, environment, policy, and support from others helps employees to be successful at making healthy choices.
EAP PROGRAMS
Life Happens, and an EAP Plan can help resolve issues within seven phone consultations or six visits to a licensed professional.
An Employee Assistance Program is a valuable service that can be provided by the employer or offered as a voluntary, employer-sponsored service that provides free and confidential assessments, short-term counseling, referrals, and follow-up services to employees who have personal and work-related problems.
EAPs are designed to assist employees in getting help for life’s challenges so that they may remain on the job and be effective. EAPs address a broad and complex body of issues impacting mental and emotional well-being, such as alcohol and other substance abuse, stress, grief, marital and financial problems, and psychological disorders. Many EAPs are active in helping organizations prevent and cope with workplace violence, trauma, and other emergency-response situations.
People seldom get through life without having to deal with some serious personal problem. An Employee Assistance Program can give your employees a way to cope with personal issues that can have an adverse impact on their job performance. With an EAP, employees have telephone access to trained counselors 24 hours a day as well as in-person access if necessary.
As the employer, an EAP provides benefits to you. Because employees have access to a resource that can remedy a potentially debilitating problem, reduce absenteeism and turnover, minimize the cost of your health insurance plan, and ward off stress-related illnesses. In the end, you will realize a happier, more productive workplace. We will help your team select the most appropriate Employee Assitant Program for your group.
